Headset Top Cover: Lowering Stack Height
The headset top cover on my Specialized Tarmac is 10mm tall. Can I get one that's just 7-8mm tall instead? Can you suggest any?
I want to lower the bars by 2-3mm. I know I can achieve the same thing by replacing the 82 (-8) degree stem with an 80 (-10) degree one. But I want to achieve this by lowering the stack height if possible. I want to keep my stem.

Yah first post (sorry had to do it)
Now i'm not sure if you can or it’s a good idea but you could shave the 2 mill you want off the top of the headset top. obviously this would require you to reseal the carbon so may not be worth it if you can find a smaller top.0 -
What difference does 2mm make ?
I doubt you'd be able to tell, in the real world rather than on a test jig0 -
agree with above - 2mm is a pretty pointless amount to be worried about and will almost certainly make no real difference to your position. Fitting some thinner bar tape and rotating your bars a bit would probably have the same effect if you're that desperate....0
