Been looking at the Family Tree and it turns out a few "Greats" ago, one of my Great, Great Grandads was a German called Herr Heidekruger.

Now, you'll all be wanting autographs of my "relative", Diane Heidkruger, who starred in "Inglorious Bastards", so start sending the cheques now!

Knew I was superior to everyone else.
(Arrogant twot the Mrs calls it...)

My Mam always said I looked like "German Spy" when I had a shaved head.

I txtd Radio 5 Live's Film Expert that George Raft was in "Some Like it Hot" as Spats.

Film was about 2 guys, who dress as LAYDEES witnessing the Valentines Day massacre, or similar Chicago underworld doings.

Film "expert" didn't know he was in it.

Not for the past 1500 years, no.

Except for the royal family, who are German.

I think we're French now since 1066 when Norman Archer and his mates invaded Sussex.

The Angles and Saxons were originally "germanic", but they weren't really German as we know Germans today. Think more danish/german than Bavarian. Old english language is fairly germanic, but distinct from old german and old norse.

The angles and saxons were seafaring tribes who went exploring, en masse, settled in Britain, totally displaced the very small number of celts into scotland, wales and cornwall and became the English. The german population is derived from different tribes who opted to stay where they were and keep their feet dry.

The Normans had very little effect on the population as there were not that many of them compared to the Saxons and they did not displace the much larger saxon population.

The English are English for all intents and purposes.

Yep, Jutes, Denamrk/Germany,similar to Angles and Saxons too.
    King Canute was Danish...

Don't forget the Clangers, they invaded in the interim years, hence the Brits love soup.

My grandfather's biological father was a German.
Curiously, it seems he was a german prisoner of war?!?
Kind of odd that, they must have been treated VERY well by the local women, eh?

My great-grandson thinks I'm biologically German, but I'm really a goat herder from Luton.
Grandson is also unaware I spent the war dressed as a lady to avoid battle.

The royal family may be german, but, among common folks, there as much people with british nacionality whose ancestors came from India as those whose ancestors came from Germany... I supose...

My great grandmother, on my father's side, was from the Faroe Islands and met my great grandfather , who was from Portugal, in Brazil. Then, they both moved to Portugal, where my great grandfather's brother owned a circus (with lions, acrobats, dwarfs, clowns and all that). They didn't worked at the circus, though

Strangely, my great grandfather, om my mother's side, was also from Portugal, but was in Brazil around the same period. My mother has a middle name wich is most common among jewish people, but I don't know where that came from...

I guess most people have unusual family trees, so it's really not that unusual

I'm pretty sure the majority of Welsh people are 100% Welsh. Inbreeding is a national sport.

He was born in Greece, was raised in England, speaks German and French as well as English and considers himself to be mostly Danish. His great great grandmother was Queen Victoria, his mother was a German who was born in Windsor, his father is the great grandson of a Russian Tsar, and most of the rest of his ancestors would have definitely spoken fluent Kraut as a mothertongue.

The royal families of europe are all interbred, continue to interbreed and are mostly Queen Victoria and Albert's issue.

That village you drive through on the way to Llandegla? I swear every time I drive through it's as though they've regressed a little further down the evolutionary chain due to their inbreeding...

Less of a family tree, more of a family vine.

I drive through a LOT of villages to get to Llandegla, you'll have to be more specific.

Actually, now that I think of it, nah, you don't they're all like that.

  • The Brits are a mix of Germanic tribes, Scandinavians, Romans, French, Angles, Saxons, Africans and Asians.

So you can't really bleat on about being pure English, we're about as Mongrel as it gets! It's even reflected in our language, hence why it's so bloody complex e.g. many words for the same thing such as small and little or big and large etc etc.

They like seamen on their poop deck.
