mudguards for carerra gryphon

I have recently bought a carerra gryphone. Originally, I got some crud race guards with it, but have now found they don't fit, due to the width of my tyres.
I have 28mm tyres, and now discover the raceguards only fit 23 and 25mm, and I cannot fit them without rubbing.
Can anyone suggest some good mudguards to get for this bike. It does look like it has mounts for guards, but haven't got a clue about which to get. With the rain now starting in earnest, I will need to get some sharpish.
