Mavic X138 rim join gap??

Just bought some NOS Mavic X138 rims and one of the joins where the pins locate, there is a gap. I've asked the shop where I bought them and they say it will 'pop' back in when building up. I thought these were bonded together?
What do you reckon?

Might come back into line.
If it's not too bad and you're using discs it should be fine. Vs or cantis and you may have a problem.
