I picked this up off ebay as a single speed with xc717 rims on pro 2 hubs for £400 then put my gearing off my old full susser on it :)

I then changed the bars to flat and put on a longer stem as well as 130mm forks. I use the carbon forks for xc and the sussers for everything else. It really is a go anywhere bike.

How big is that back disc. You must like doing skids :D

That disc would get you home in event of the rear wheel collapsing
  • I've considered one of those frames in the past. How do you find it?

Is the pic taken on the North loop at Whinlatter?
  • How do you find the fork at 130mm? On-one recommend that you run at 100mm max (despite typos on their website - when I got mine I emailed to check) and when I tried it longer than that the front end was very twitchy.
  • I would highly recommend it the two sets of forks i have seem to work perfectly, the rigid carbon forks lower your center of gravity making it great for cross country and the 130mm forks make you sit further over the back wheel making it good as an all mountain machine.

I find the front quite twichy on climbs but i find that this can be cured with speed i just either change down a couple of gears or lower the forks cos they are u-turn. Its a weird bike in that the handling is far better at speed, its as if you have to trust it and if you do so you'll be rewarded greatly. The only times i have fallen off it is on climbs where i have been going too slow and i dnt get out the clips quick enough lol :)

And yes that is the north loop, (the better one in my opinion)
