After trying and failing to source a Giant Trance X3, I'm now looking at other options of bikes. Love the look of the Lapierre Spicy and Zesty bikes, but got a question.

Now the 314 and 316's have decent forks, Fox basically means without a doubt itll be good (without going into details). I have a pair of RockShox Tora 302's got from on-one when they were throwing them away at stupid money, and im happy with them, but I cannot find any reviews on the ones that come with the 214 and 216 Lapierres.

They are:

RockShox Domain 302CL 160mm
and
Fork RockShox Recon 335 140mm LO

Anyone know much about them or have experience? How do they ride?

Tempted for the Spicy 214, love that green frame!

The 302 is pretty poor - I have seen it reviewed a few times, and the simple damping can't really cope with the travel. But it is a tough, stiff, if heavy fork.

The 335 shares the same damper, but seems to work a little better in a shorter format. Has a lighter weight chassis, but of course is a lighter.

Both are fairly budget units and to get the most out of the bike I would upgrade them at some point, but may be good enough to get you going.
