Possible Recommendations - one catch

Work are doing a deal where I can save a huge % on a bike HOWEVER.. the bike must be purchased from halfords. Budget is £1000
Looking for something that would be able to handle larger jumps etc, some dh & xc.
Spotted this, anyone ride a Banshee X? I'm not in the 'knowledge' about these bikes but it looks a bit flimsy.

It's by no means a DH bike, but tough enough for some minor drops, DH and jumping. More of a hardnut all mountain bike, if that makes sense.
You'll have to compromise somewhere though, especially if wanting to ride XC.
For a grand thouigh, lighter weight all round machines are somewhat limited unless you stumble across a sale bike.0 -
