Schwalbe Tyre questions

I have been looking at Schwalbe tyres, can someone please tell me the difference between Rocket Ron, Racing Ralph and Nobby Nic and the different types of riding each is suitable for?

Also is it possible to buy Schwalbe tyres with white at the sides like on a lot of Cube bikes?

Why would I want to mix and match different tyres like you see on some bikes as standard?

Finally what factors should you take into consideration when choosing which width of tyre to go for?

Thanks in advance.

The info you want is on Schwalbe's website about which tyre for what

The OEM whitewall tyres on Cubes are available from Cube dealers

Mix & match to get the best grip up front & lowers rolling resistance out back

Tyre width can depend on your frame & riding style as well as other factors

  • In my experience

Racing Ralph, good all round but not great in mud

Rocket Ron, not a fan of this tyre its a bit flexy under hardpack, loose cornering- pretty good in muddy (not bad) conditions

Nobby Nic, fantastic tyre good all rouder, good till next summer.

Just for the record on the Epic i use a 2.1 Nobby on the front and a 2.1 ralph on the back , its one of the best tyre combinations ive found for all round conditions

p.s They are a bit overpriced however, look for a bargain Wiggle were selling Ralps with 30% off recently
