New forks

The reba's on my youngest son's bike are un serviceable see photo (they are deep groves at the front and the bushes have worn, never been serviced in 2 years ), so I'm 'm looking to get some new forks.
The eldest is on a Giant trance (08) same frame as the new X but with 100mm travel. I was looking to put 120mm fork on this and put the 100mm recon from it to replace the broken reba on the youngest's bike (Carrera Kraken).
I can get a good deal on the reba xx (120mm) for £319, however I been recommended to get the revelation u-turn ( 110 - 140 as these can be moved bike to bike and are more ) but I can't find any less than £400 and I'm not spending that!!!
Alternatively I could look at the tora solo air or some suntours for around £200, or could get some off e-mail and send them off to be serviced...... what a bloody nightmare, any idea's???

Erm, why not new uppers and bushings for the rebas, cheaper than a new fork of that sort of quality.0
-
Uppers seem to retail for around £200 plus say £100 or so for a service and bushes. May as well get new forks?______________________________________________

Lol! Very good buy that!0

Just had a look through, some good looking deals, but the descriptions are terrible! Two different descriptions for most forks, some with maxle, some with QR, wrong travel listed... I'd email them.0

Igored the main description but went on the stock item:
RockShox Reba XX Dual Air 120mm Fork with Motion Control and XX Remote (left) / White / 9mm QR / 1 1/8
Just need to remember to spend a bit more time after the ride cleaning them (got some fork juice and shock oil now) and regular servicing, a quick strip down every few months re-oiling the seals etc doesn't take that long, an LBS by me will do a simple service for £25, maybe an idea for your next article....______________________________________________

supersonic you seem to be the RockShox guru on these forums, I was hoping you could answer the following questions!
Aside from the hydraulic lockout and weight, are the XLoc and Pushloc damping systems the same? (I mean in terms of adjustment).
Does the Xloc actually lock out the forks completly or just increase the compression damping?
I am thinking the SID XX World Cup could be good for my winter bike as the remote lockout shouldnt get clogged up with mud.

I have had a u-turn revelation and would not bother again. Not worth it as it takes far two long to reduce the travel turning the nob. Feels like 10+ turns to go from 150-120. I could have been up the top of the hill in that time! In the end i never bothered messing with them. I just kept them on 150mm and rode up the hill.
Also u-turn forks have had in 2010 issues with the u-turn nob and adjuster giving up. Users would hear a loud bang follower by a drop from x amount of travel to 120mm or whatever the minimum was on the fork.0 -
XLoc is a hydraulic, rather than cable actuated 'switch'.
Not worth it. If anything reduces adjusatabilty over Pushloc.0 -
Thanks for the response. Do you know what adjustability the XLoc loosees over the Pushloc? And does it actually lock out the fork or increase compression damping?0
