I'm putting together a bike with Ritchey WCS Logic II bars which, as it turns out, don't have any grooves to accommodate the gear and brake cables.

I could press on and just tape the cable housings to the bars, with a discrete alignment that won't affect comfort too much. However, I remember stripping a bike a couple of years ago that had some triangular wedge-shaped pieces that sat over the cable housings and "damped out" their effect on comfort. I've hunted t'internet for them, but no luck so far.

Does anyone know (a) what I'm on about, (b) what they're called, and (c) who sells them?

Thanks in advance.

Your LBS might be able to get it as well, use the Shimano part number in the SJSC item but beware of their postage charge.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

My LBS gave me a couple of lenghts of those. Apparantly they come with Shimano groupsets but are rarely used. They are invaluable for letting you change a cable outer without having to remove the bar tape.

I bought some this morning on SJS, to be delivered by normal post. As you rightly pointed out, their priority delivery isn't half pricey!

To speed matters along, I phoned my LBS today, and he said he'd put some aside for me to collect. Nice chap. Bought a Lezyne Pressure Drive mini pump by way of thanks.

Hmmm - interesting. I've never had the need to change an outer, but I can see it helping during the build (taking one step out of the trial fit / cut outer / re-fit process). I'll maybe try taping the guides only, so I can do as you suggest.
