Packing a bike away

I have bought a little racing bike to keep at my mum's house in France. Obviously, I am not out there that often, maybe twice a year, so is there something I should do each time I visit to get the bike ready for riding/lock it up for a few months, so it doesn't go rusty, and broken?

I'd hang it up if you can - that may help with your tyres, but I'd really not sweat it much. If your chain is lubed - I dont reckon much would go wrong ?

Clean it and lube it, rather than leaving it covered in muck.

If you can heng it up that would help the tyres & tubes, as cougie says, plus putting a dustsheet over it and not leaving it in the sun or next to a flourescent light as apparently that will damage the tyres eventually.
  • Ah, ok, I'm glad there isn't much to do!

    Thanks for the advice.
  • Maybe it could use your bed when youre not there? Somewhere nice to rest its headset.
