Spokes
Hi everyone,
Just checking my spokes today and one spoke appears to have come completely unattached at the elbow(not sure it thats the correct term). Does the spoke need replacing?
I assume that it has actually snapped at the elbow, or do spokes to just unattach themselves?
Thanks in advance

its snapped. most common place.the head came off. its easy to get one, take it out and measure the length or take it to the bike shop.0

same thing has happened to me. Got the first one replaced by a mechanic. But now this second one has gone, i would like to do it myself. But i dont know what tension i need and all that.0

Usually if two go whole wheel needs sorting out, I had 4 or 5 go, usually one every 30 miles or so....really annoying as was using it for workSay... That's a nice bike..

Really? Iv had the one fixed. its only the head snaps off them. I dont know though. Its the back wheel of my hardtail, its newer then my front aswell and none of my front ones have gone.0 -
Backwheel is more highly stressed, particularly on drive-size and therefore they snap more often. If you get recurring spoke breakage best solution is to wind-off the tension in all the spokes and get it retensioned like a new build.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0
