Kids Bike - Clicking noise - SORTED!

I just bought my daughter a new (2010) Spesh Hotrock 12", with rear coaster brake. When pedalling there is a heavy "clicking noise" which is coming from either the BB or the rear hub, I can't tell which. It happens about once or twice per revolution. I've checked that the plastic chain guard isn't rubbing...
Anything else I can check - it's her birthday present for tomorrow, so I hope not serious... :?

Grab the cranks on either side and see if there's any play in them. If they wobble (sideways) then there's either a loose bolt somewhere or it could be a BB problem.
Rear hub wise do the same, grab the frame firmly and move the wheel sideways. If there's any play then again ensure everything is tight, if it is then there coulb be bearing problem.
If the bike's brand new then there shouldn't be any dramas with bearings etc so it's more than likely a loose bolt somewhere.
Also I know it sounds obvious but check things like reflectors etc that generally come on kids bikes. These can easily come loose and get noisy.
Good luck!Life is hard, but so am I0 -
Thanks for replying. I tried all that, plus I've removed and refitted the pedals and the stabilisers. Still doing it.
It sounds like something is hitting the plastic chain guard, but nothing is... weird."it rubs the lotion on its skin, or else it gets the hose again"0 -
