Cotic Soul build: which wheels & gruppo?

I'll make this quick. I have a large Soul incoming next week. Already have a 120mm Fox RC fork. I'm looking at the Merlin £650 deal on full XT 9sp + XT&mavic wheels. Is that unimaginative? Is there anything better out there?

I have a road bike for sunny days on silky smooth tarmac, I have a Stumpy elite for Glentress/Inners, the Soul will be for absolutely everything else for the rest of my life - sounds like a marriage vow!

Unimaginative tome usually means good, as you are getting quality kit at a good price, and not paying for boutique names and looks.
