Remove the wheel & wipe-down the rims (to remove grease, dust, etc - baby-wipes or a damp cloth). Then check the brake-blocks to make sure there's no embedded bits of flint or other bits.

If the brake still squeals, check the toe-in angle.
Then if all of the above fails, lube pivot points and cables.

Depends on whether you are talking about a squeak or a squeal. A squeal is much louder and annoying so I will assume this is your problem.

I had the same problem when I fitted new pads.
Research on the web came up with 2 solutions.

!. Make sure all screws etc are tight. Micro vibrations can cause the squeal. 1 minute check.

    2. Toe-in the pads so the front end JUST catches first. I found this a bit fiddly as it means spinning the angled washer to the right angle but it was the solution for me and the most likely cause.

Or just use it as an emergency warning signal

A squeak is likely just needing lubrication.
None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.
