HI
My wife is after a road bike for getign to work, maybe a bit of turing and genral getting some miles in over winter when we do less MTB. It'll be her first road bike. Not many of the local shops have anythign in her size but she did manage to find an XS Giant Avail which she could stand over but was a tad long in the top tube for her.
Can you body reccomend a few bikes or frames to look at that come in small sizes but still use 700c wheels ?
Cheers

I think that you're going to be struggling to find anything with much less than a 52 top tube on any bike that uses 700c wheels, you'd find a much better fit in something with 650 wheels.0

How about custom geometry?
Theres a lass in our club who has a custom steel Roberts, and very nice it is too. The bike is good as well.0 -
custom is prob a bit out of budget for her first road bike. MTB is our main riding this will just be a bit of riding on the side0

50cm toptube is about the smallest toptube achievable with 700c wheels - and even then front wheel overlaps could be a problem. I would suggest a bike fit in order to identify a suitable geometry and work from there. Don't forget things like short cranks and narrow handlebars too.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

Say... That's a nice bike..

Specilized go right down to a 44 in their womens specific e.g Dolce, Ruby with a 49 Vs 51 (Defy XS) top tube length, may be worth a look no? If reach is an issue you could try a shorter stem? My mum is 5'3 and rides a Dolce 52 or 53 IIRC no probs0

according to specialized sizing guide the ruby or dolce are available in 44 frame to suit 4 ft 10 female
Dolce is same geometry as ruby with a alloy frame rather than carbon, which will fit with your £800 price point0
