Race Face Crank Creak

Hoping someone can give advice please.
I have a 2008 Race Face xc evolve triple x-type chainset which has now had a couple of years good use. The crank bolt torque setting is 56nm but now that seems too loose as the crank is constantly creaking. I have cleaned it etc including the threads but no luck. The only way to get rid of the creaking is by over tightening it and at present its torqued to 65nm!! and has just again started creaking :roll:
My BB is Hope a only 6 months old so cant be that.
Is it a case of simply replacing the crank bolt or better just to get a new crank?
