Rear wheel cassette sticking...

Hi,

I've just fitted a new rear wheel and cassette and the wheel won't free wheel. Seems as though the cassette is stuck to it. Any ideas what I've done wrong?

    Take the cassette off, and see if thew freewheel works then?..spins freely ...if so then we've established that the wheel is functionally fine.

    Last night the freewheel was working fine. I've had it in the workstand and it was freewheeling but then all of a sudden the two seemed to lock together and now it slowly turns the pedals round if you spin it. I'll try taking it all apart again tomorrow. I didn't grease anything when I put it together, could that be it?

    You are not giving out too much information to work on..

    with the wheel out of the frame with the cassette on, does it freewheel nicely and smoothly as you hold it up?
