So I just got some new forks and will probably be getting some hydraulic brakes too soon! Where do you guys buy the oils from? I havent seen any on the usual shops I browse :(

What sort of oils do you need? The brakes won't need bleeding for ages. The fork oil similalry will not need replacing.

Just use chain oil on the fork seals.

Reckon the brakes will come already setup?

As for the forks, I thought those things had to have fairly regular services? I'm sure the book said something like every 50 hours or something daft :|

The brakes are ready to fit.

Get the fork stuff when it needs servicing, will be ages yet! The manual tells you what you need ie weights and types.

I use basic silicone lube on fork stanchions every few rides and Squirt Dry Lube on my chain. IIRC they do a free sample that lasts for 5 or so applications, and it stays on the chain for a while too.

And they wont need bleeding for a fair while? How long we talking about? 6 months? 12? :\

Sounds too good to be true lol

where exactly should you lube the forks up? is a bit at the seals ok, or should the whole length of the stanchions be lubed?

Well the seal is the important part so a little bit there occasionally will help preserve it longer and minimise any friction. It should spread itself over the rest of the travel as/when it moves up and down to leave a thin coat.

lube the fork seals with a little lite lube.

ON the chain I use Nut Lube, its awsome, but then i would say that, i am the inventor and owner of the brand and buisnes.....

as for the fok oil and brake fluid, dont bother, you wont need either for ages.

and dont ask where to get Nut Lube, you cant, its not for sale yet, although if you ask nicely i might be able to send you a bit.

Shouyld be on sale by late autmn/Winter if all goes to plan!

I'm not sure how comfortable I would be with asking a stranger on the internet for some of his own personal 'nut lube' :|
