How deep does a scratch have to be before its a concern on carbon fibre?

And how can yuo tell if a frame is damaged if its been knocked???????

    For scratch, read 'deep gouge'. Apart from X-ray and ultrasound, there's no real effective means of determining where a carbon frame is damage or not, typically until it cracks...but if has to be a big knock i.e crashed at speed rather than just falling over
    Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

    Speak to the manufacture. Each frame is laid up differently, some have a extra layer over the top to look nice, some may have extra layers for more strength etc.

    If it is just the lacquer or top coat that is scratched then mostly likely you'll be fine. If you've actually gone through a few fibres then speak to the manufacturer or a carbon fibre repair specialist.
