Headsets? Are they all the same size generally?

As the title suggests are all headsets pretty much the same size?

I know that some older bikes had 1" steering tubes in the forks but most now are 1 1/8" right? That takes care of the size of the fork but what about the frame? Are all frames made to accept a uni-size of headset?

    nope they are not.

have a read of the headset standards on Parktools.

So my Trek 4300 will most likely have a conventional threadless headset?

From what I could see on the Park Tools website this seemed to be the closest match :/ I havent really taken mine apart at all though so I cant really vouch about the inner parts

Cool thanks :) tbh I probably dont need to replace it... seems fine at the moment and Im sure it wouldn't exactly give me a huge weight save so I guess the only reason to do it would be for some extra bling if I got a coloured one...

Think I'll save my cash for other stuff :D
