Truvativ Touro compact, changing chainring?

Hi there,

I'm using the bike's stock Truvativ Touro chainset with Tiagra groupset and would like lower gearing for climbing purposes. I picked up a Stronglight 34 tooth chainring for a good price with the intention of changing it over, however I had a quick look at the online Tiagra manual and it says it only accomodates a 15 tooth or less difference. Has anyone ran a 34/50 with this front mech for it to work, or know whether or not it would accomodate it? I could, of course, always try it, but I'd rather keep it in the packaging if it definitely won't...

Thanks.
:)

It will work fine. The latest spec says 16 teeth. I don't think they have changed the mech. I am running 50/34 with a Sora front mech. It works well.
  • Brilliant, thanks. :D
