What big charity cycle events are there?

Hi, I've been looking to do some cycle events for (cancer) charities and so far I have only found Etape Caledonia... which is very far away from me as I live in Portsmouth!

Are there any other big events that are popular?

Any good websites for finding them out?

Marie Curie are doing a Ride through the Garden Route of South Africa, next autumn, £3250 minimum sponsorship required.

Any of the Tour of Britain rides can be done for Prostrate Cancer

Why cant you just pick a sportive and get sponsored for that ?

Or do you want one of these 'raise 3000 and we'll send you on holiday round cuba' things ?

For the OP - London-Pairs rides (there are several) are the biggest charity rides. I'm sure there are some for Cancer specifically.

Or look at http://www.bike-events.com/ for smaller rides.

If you go to http://www.doitforcharity.com/home.aspx you can choose the event and the charity, so its flexible.

I did the 100 mile London event, its well organised, there is good ctering and a parmedic included in the entry.

There's no minimum sponsorship value as well
