Should the slicker tyre go on back or front?

I have a pair of Kenda SB8's which are smooth and fast but not grippy and a pair of panaracer fire xc pro's which are grippier but chunkier. If I was to mix them up and have one of each, which should go back and front?

Cheers

xc pro on the front, SB8 on the back. Good combo.

Grippier tyre on the front usually, so your front wheel doesn't wash out in turns etc.

What they said, but the SB8 is a VERY grippy tyre, just in different conditions.
Why would I care about 150g of bike weight, I just ate 400g of cookies while reading this?

sb8 on the rear, panaracer fire xc on front. you dont want to wash out with a less grippy tyre on front than on rear, its a weird feeling i can assure you :)

to be honest it depends on the conditions, unless its really really wet/muddy i stick to small blocks each end, then maybe if it is a bit too hazardous shove an ignitor on the front

that said glentress was interesting but very fast at the weekend running 2 small blocks
