Fulcrum Wheels and Shimano Cassette

I recently purchased some Fulcrum racing 1 Wheels. They are gorgeous and are light years better than my RS20's. Could not quite believe the difference they make.

After some good advice here I got an Ultegra Cassette. Same ratios as on my other wheels.

When fitting the cassette it was obvious that the lockring on the Freehub was bigger and heavier than the Shimano one that came with the cassette. After buying a Shimano tool to tighten it ... it became obvious that this would not fit properly.

I went into Ribble and they kindly tightened it for me.... Yes they are really nice if you go in!

Anyway they did however comment that the lockring seemed to be very high up on the bottom cog but thought it would be OK. After going out on it ... it clearly is not. The chain bounces all over the place in bottom gear and actually ended up hitting the rear stay!

What do I do? They thought in the shop that the lockring was more like a campgnolo one rather than shimano. The shimano one does not fit!

hi i had exactly the same problem with my fulcrum racing 1s and after alot of banter and trial and error I fitted a campag lockring and this was perfect.

token campag 11t ring 4.99 off CRC

its most likely that the lockring you are using is only design for a 12t min and I guess your you've fitted an 11t

You are correct in that I have an 11t !!!

as long as its the 11t locking

shimano 11t will be what you got with the cassette
