All,

Currentyl have a ribble gran fondo and fancy a bit of an upgrade. Now since ribble are ridiculous value upgrading for £1000, is a bit hit and miss. I'm liking the look of a scuro RS but struggling to find anyone who has ridden one or knows what they size like?

I want something a bit more twitchy than the gran fondo and with a more racy geometry? The ribble website actually makes the scuro look shorter and less racy than the gran fondo in the bigger sizes? Am I nuts?

Any feedback or alternatives I should look for?

If you can get down to the warehouse shop go and have a look, and they might be able to get the rig out to see what you feel most comfortable on. The Scuro looks really nice hanging up on their wall.

The scuro RS has exactly the same geo as the gran fondo the size guide is different for some reason possiblt because racers go for smaller size frames and sportive types larger ones, for the longer headtube.

Just pick one with the same length TT as your current bike and get that if you're happy with the fit. The reviews generally say that they are quick and comfy. I quite fancy one, but I'm not sure about chopping the ISP and warranty issues.

  • hmmm, i find the fondo pretty short in the top tube but really long wheelbase, it corners like the QE2.

If the goemtry is the same on the Scuro then maybe it's not for me - thats a pity. I might try and get to the warehouse.

ISP should be OK as long as the clamp isn't stupidly short, most clamps have 30mm on them?

Looking at the geo on the web site there is a massive difference as the frames get bigger? All us tall people must need sit up and beg bikes...?!

Thanks for your advice guys - much appreciated
