Seatpost creaking Giant
I have a Giant OCR aluminium road bike which is fitted with a carbon seatpost, and an alloy shim, i continually get a creaking noise coming from the seatpost / shim area of the bike i have tried greasing even tried using different types of grease, plumbers tape hairspray and very thin insulating tape but after a few weeks the noise comes back, so anyone here know any way i can fix this?

Carbon assembly paste?
If it's still there you have a good excuse to buy a new seatpost.0 -

Do away with the shim, get a seatpost to fit directly into the frameHe is not the messiah, he is a very naughty boy !!0

Wrap insulating tape round the shim in an even wrap. Put the shim in the frame and check to see if the post is a tighter sliding fit, add tape as required to get a tight sliding fit. I did this on my Giant and the creak has been absent for one year now.0
