Morning all!

Anyone recommend some very warm bibs for the coming winter? Last season I froze my nuts off with the Spuik bib's I was wearing.

Budget wise - up to £80.

Are DHB's winter bibs any good?

Gracias.

I've ordered these, if the reviews are right they look to be the best out there

I like my dhbs - you could always try shorts under your tights if you're really feeling the cold ?

I realise that this appears to ignore your budget but last year I picked up a pair of Assos padded bibtights with I think 851 patches on knees and thighs. I couldn't believe the difference these made after years of making do with pap! Start looking out for offers now or fleabay would be my recommendation - hopefully you may be able to secure a pair around £100 mark. I very much doubt you would have any regrets when the temperatures start dipping.

Those Descente ones I linked to are £75. And were £150!

Another one. What's going on? Has Watford Gap become snowed under and impasssable?

C'mon guys, give the OP a break - may have been brought up in the scouts, thinking ahead/ being prepared etc - buying out of season you may well bag a bargain!

Not as much as I managed in the rapha shop close out sale this morning!!

My winter staples are from Nalinii's basic range: "Nalini Basic Birmania 1 Mantotex Bib "
which I picked up for E75 from Germany (I live in France) http://www.bike24.com/p22541.html - so well within your budget. The 3/4 bibs as just as good.

I regularly wore these down to minus 10 last winter and they were plenty warm enough (the entire front is wind proof, etc) I find them much more comfortable than the DHBs (which I also have) - much better pad (for me). At minus 16 they were marginal, but not as marginal as my feet were....

BTW, almost my entire winter wardrobe was sourced during July / Aug - I have a rack of lovely Exteondo jackets / tops that I paid about half price for courtsey of FleeBay - it pays to plan ahead.

I've just bought a pair of these Gore ones - they're a good price and have good reviews. All my other Gore stuff has been great - so I'm hoping these will be just the job for the colder weather.

Yes, it may be August but it's surprising how much of a discount you can get on Winter gear at this time of year

Cheap n cheerful Lusso Max Repel for me - tights that fit my UK sized bod

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.

    +1 for Lusso max repel

Also I also use a 3/4 bib underneath for a bit more warmth in the coldest weather.

    Cheers fellas for the replies

Aye, I do plan ahead now and grab bargains while I can as it saves a fortune come Oct-December when the retailers start putting prices up for the winter. Keeps the bank manager (the wife) happy!

Some great suggestions and I'm looking at them all and reading reviews.

    Thanks!

    Darren.
