whats the difference between a cable ferrule and a cable end crimp? Do you need both?

    Ferrule is the plastic thing that the cable passes through to stop any crap passing down the cable and into the inner where it will corrode. Cable end crimp is the metal cap that you put over the end of a cut cable to stop it fraying.
