All,

Any opinions on the Assos Climajet Clear Jkt?

I am considering buying for the wet times. I have been using a Montane Jkt but it gets a bit sweaty after a while so I am looking for something that is easy to stow away, waterproof, light and quiet when worn.

Any opinions or suggested alternatives?

Looks like a condom but a good if expensive bit of kit. I know people who have the gilet version as this lets them use armwarmers or a long sleeve jersey with the gilet keeping both the wind and water off and allowing some breathability and easier stowage. The Rapha Stowaway and the Rainjacket are worth considering and there is a Castelli clear jkt and vest

    Buy the gilet and armwarmers.

I use this, and they beat the montane (have one) for weather proof water resistance.

It packs down easily small enough to fit in a pocket, and goes with me on all summer rides.

The montane is an autumn chill blocker.

    What about winter use?

I was considering the jacket as a stowable option for autumn/winter rides so would probably use it with Long Sleeve Jerseys so the Gilet and armwarmer approach may not work for me.

If you don't mind spending a bit of cash, then +1 for the Rapha Stowaway
