Just a quickie. My crank arms seem to creak when I put any sort of weight into riding. They are deore hollowtech 2. Any ideas in solving this. I've already greased and tightened everything and have run out of ideas.

Regards
Dave

Dont be too hasty to replace the bearing right away.

Creaks when applying power can come from either:

    Handlebars/Stem
    Headset
    Pedals
    Cranks
    Chain
    Seatost/Saddle Rails
Or The Strange One Yes Thats Right A Loose Spoke On The Rear Wheel

My Brother and i went for a long ride once on the road. The week before he had gone to check the route out and had snapped a spoke. Since replacing it he had it sorted out and fine. Few miles down the road we heard a clicking sound when we were going up the hills. Settling back on the power and not forcing it one we reached our next stop he checked the spoke he had replaced and it had since gone loose. He did have the creak before on the saddle rails as mentioned before but he had since sorted out which is why we were baffled for the first 5 miles after our hill climb and small sprints and power bursts against the wind.

Check all the listed things above for play or movement and with some of them if you cant wobble it but it clicks then its just one of those niggly things you have to live with on that bike.

But hey it gives the bike character.

Hope it gets sorted out soon (Thumbs up emoticon)
