Juicy 3 Clarks Pads

Just bought some Clarks pads to replace the well worn originals.
Can get the old ones out no trouble, but having no luck so far fitting the new ones back in. They look pretty much identical in terms of size (though obviously have full pad thickness, unlike the old ones which have almost nothing left).

Sure i'm doing the right thing because after about 15mins getting frustrated I fitted the old pads back in no trouble, only thing i can see is that the X shaped spreader spring supplied with the Clarks pads is perhaps very slightly tougher than the Avis original..

Any thoughts, or is it just a case of keep trying, maybe even helped with a slight technical tap to push them into place...
Every time I go out, I think I'm being checked out, faceless people watching on a TV screen.....

Make sure the pistons are fully out, if not then you'll need to lever them into position (I just use a big flat head screwdriver.) The clarks pads do seen ever so slightly bigger but you should be able to wiggle them in no problem.

Yup, push the pistons back after you have taken the old pads out. Careful not to damage anything though! Once this is done, the pads should slot straight in with the help of some "tactical wiggling".

I bet it's the two lugs on the pads themselves that snap into the caliper, these can be a very tight fit. Use something soft (I use the plastic handle of my pliers) to force them home, you won't damage them.

just fitted some clark organics to my avid 3`s and had the same problem.

took me some time to sus it but make sure that the x shaped spring is on the inside of the metal part of the pad with its arms wrapped around the grippy part of the pad. i was initially putting the arms around the back of the pad `MUPPET`

the 2 lugs that clip into the caliper are fairly tight but as UncleMonty suggests give a push and wiggle with something `unmetal`
