I am in the market for new disc brakes.
I have tried Avid Elixir cr brakes and found them to be excelent but wasnt too impressed with the robustness of them for Free riding.
I am also looking at Formula The One but not sure if there is much difference between the FR and the MY10 models in terms of performance.
How do these compare to the Hope v2s?
Cheers

Miss my Saints. Although the XT's are doing a mighty fine job tbh. Not quite as powerful, but not as harsh either!
I will have saints again!0 -

I'd be looking at high end Formulas myself, the Oro 24s I have are absolutely brilliant and apparently it gets a lot better still.Uncompromising extremist0

Ive been reading that the one my10 or FRsare fantastic but eat a lot of pads.
Hope v2s or x2s?
Ive got Avid elixir rotors 185 /160 and a similar det of old hope m4 discs too. Can i run say the formula brakes with these rotors? Do you HAVE to buy the associated rotor/ finishing kit?
Leaning to hopes

Think i gonna stick with the avids for now as its too costly to upgrade the whole brake package when the Elixir CR may not be the best but its the best ive ever ridden...0

I run Formula Oro K24s on both my Giant and Cove. Fit and forget as far as I am concerned - brilliant brakes, reasonably cheap, light and hassle free, look good too.Giant XTC Pro-Carbon
