I came to raod cycling as a means to regain some fitness for motorcycle racing only I've found I'm enjoying the cycling more. Could it be the weather or the fact you're actually getting fitter while enjoying yourself? Anyway, I even found myself watching Le Tour instead of the Moto GP this weekend.

For sale one Yamaha R1.
I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.

I've converted from 'bikes' to 'bikes' too. I think you're right, it's the enjoyment of getting out, but fitness rewards you for your time out. I still love my bikes though... (ones with engines)

Not a fan of Rossi. Two sides to him; one the public get to see and one that isn't very nice.

Yes enjoy the cycling much more. I also think it's because I haven't come across any of the cock waving you get in the motorcycle paddock these days.

I ride a Bike because of a motorbike accident and the damage it caused to my knee(less impact than running) will never go back to a motorbike because I count myself extremely lucky.
Now decend hills on my roubaix at 48mph.
    We never learn
    Sirrus Comp 2010 (commuting)
Roubaix Pro SL Sram red (Weekend sportives)
    Certini Campagnolo Mirage (Turbo trainer)

    Really?

I sold my Aprilia Falco earlier in the year, just before I got my roadie, trying to persuade my R1 riding friend to get a roadie too!!!!

Different kind of experience, and I like both (yet to buy my roadie yet, but do lots miles on my old MTB).
Somehow I doubt i'm ever going to get the same buzz as dropping the bike into paddock hill with my knee scrapping the tarmac as I will on any kind of road/mtb!

I was mad into m/bikes before getting into road bikes 5 or 6 years ago- and now I have no time for m/cycles whatsoever...
I have had a full bike licence since I was 17 and was a despatch rider / courier for 5 years till I got banned and had to get a 'proper' job , but I can honestly say that I get a much better thrill on the push bike than I did on m/cycles..
I got just as much a rush hitting 60mph on the descent of Fleetmoss into Hawes ( on the Etape du Dales), as doing an indicated 160 on an FZR 1000 Genesis some years ago down the m4 early one morning.... I think road bikes feel better carving through corners or swooping down the Alps + you get the endorphins from all the exercise :)

    Do you know him then?!

No, but enough people who have full paddock access to have seen the other side of Mr. jovial, laugh a minute play to the crowd.

I can't say I'll never miss the track, but it doesn't give me the buzz anymore that road cycling is. I was able to post good clubman times and had a couple of good crashes along the way; 100mph highside going through Craner Curves that dislocated my hip and a 140mph low side that I walked away from without a scratch. But the euphoria of making to the top of the hill that has had your lungs bursting is to die for.

Ok, I'm not going to get into an argument with you, you're evidently a Rossi fan. I'm not. But what makes it OK for Rossi to have mardy moments but not some of the other riders? It's a dog-eat-dog world in world championship competitions of any description, so I can't see what's wrong with people being focused and having a tissy fit when things go wrong. It makes them human. Trying to hide that side from the public and a section of which won't believe you have these same tantrums, seems futile to me.

Anyway, enjoy the rest of the season.
