Help with work colleages hybrid

Oddly, despite living mountain bikes, I'm clueless about other types of bikes. A girl at work has asked me for advice, she wants to spend £200 on a bike to ride to work on and bump up a few pavements. Any thoughts / offers out there? No idea how far £200 goes in the 'real' world - £200 doesn't buy a chainset.......

£200 is not alot even for a commuter. At that price, it'll be places like Pauls Cycles where you can get a heavy discount on older bikes. Same goes for Evans when they have a sale.
Otherwise try the LBS. They may have some old rusties lying around.
Maybe its worth considering the Cycle to Work scheme?0 -
This would be ideal...ignore the mens grips quote...it would be great for a lady due to low stepover height, suspension seatpost and front fork, and a big comfy seat...not bad looking neither (if that's yiour kinda thing)
