I'm torn between a Specialized MTB Hardrock Sport disk or a Hybrid Crosstrail.
I'm only going to be using it with my wife and 3yr old child on the road and on trials... I may occasionally go to work on it in the summer! I'll be attaching the Trail-gator to pull childs bike! (Wife has Specilalized Globe Vienna 1)
Pros
Hardrock has lockout forks
hardrock has disks
Crosstrail has larger rims
Crosstrail has better gear ratio for road
If i had the Black and white Hardrock I would change the handle bars to black ones!
I kind of feeling more for looks on the Crosstrail than the slightly pimped look of the Black Hardrock!
Anybody got any comments to sway me either way?
Cheers

Sounds like an MTB would be a better bet, but th Hardrock is pretty poor for the cash. I'd be looking at Carrera or Decathlon bike.0

Thanks Supersonic - I know what your saying... I started out looking at a Decathlon one.
I've spent weeks narrowing it down to these two bikes! I'm kinda keen on the Specialized also and looked at probably all the other bikes under this price range and not found one I like the look of.0 -
I guess I don't really go for looks - the Decathlon Rockrider 5.3 is so much a better bike. Damped suspension, lighter, superior drivetrain with wider range, less steel parts. And it's cheaper0

It does look good... Weighs the same as the Hardrock tho
Is this going too far down the MTB route for what I'm going to be using it for tho?0 -
Not really, as these hybrid bikes can be the same weight.
If you wanna hit the dirt trails, an MTB is the way forward.0
