Shimano triple

Hi can any body help please. I have just changed from flat bars to drops have fitted shimano ultegra STI levers ST-6703 triple . have not changed the front dérailleur this is Shimano XTR FD-M971 triple, I'm have problems in getting this to work, can it be that the ST-6703 and the FD-M971 are not compatible.... Thanks

    MTB front mechs do not use the same cable pull as their road counterparts. You will need a road front derailleur.
