Pump Advice

Can anyone recommend a decent pump to fit on the frame of my bike while out riding. I have a track pump at home, but have run into a few problems while out on the road with my current pump (a Topeak) snapping the valves.
Take Saturday for example, I got a puncture after 10 miles, stuck my brand new spare tube in, tried to inflate it to around 80psi (as in my experience anything less than that runs the risk of pinch punctures) - I got to around 60 PSI and the valve snapped clean off. I then repaired the original tube and the same thing happened again - a long walk back to the nearest bike shop to get it sorted.
Thanks

Zefal HPX - simply the best.

Blackburn Airstick ...

you can even get a carbon one if you want ...
they go to 160 psi so getting over 100 is a doddle when the worst happens ...
(and as an aside ... resting the valve section of your wheel aginst your thigh whlst pumping steadies the pump/valve so you don't get bent/snapped valve nipples .. works for me anyways ... oh, and new, decent tyres will keep the dreaded puncture at bay in the main ... i've never had one in 7 years ... my gf only 2 in all that time ...)
EDIT: I have just had a thought ... I dunno if my pump even still works ... maybe best find out before the weekend ... cos' now i've jinxed myself i'm sure to puncture ......0 -
Topeak Mini Morph.
You can get 110 psig easily because it works like a mini track pump, no stress on the valve, and you are compressing against the ground, not against your other hand.0 -
The blackburn is a good pump, but 160psi.... no way! I struggle to get to 100psi with mine.
Zefal HPX or similar is the way forward.0 -
Topeak Road Morph or Turbo Morph - best ergonomics of any pump and therefore can do proper pressures. Failing that a Lezyne Micro Floor Drive - similar concept, prettier, pricier.0

I agree 160psi (their claim) is not likely to happen but getting to over 100psi without any hassle is easier with that extra leeway ... I've had 125psi ot of mine but that was in the house when i was checking it worked fine ... tired and frustrated out on the road is always different ...0
