I'm looking at the following 4 bikes to replace the missus' stolen Specialzed Myka. i want to get her something a bit more substantial as we are going to the alps to do a bit of xc'ing and will also be frequenting dalby now we have more free time. The candidates are:
4 I chose for her:

I need opinions as she wont bloody listen to me! Also, womens' opinions apparently count for double so please help me ladies.

All the Clauds there are very, very good value, well picked out. The 400 quid one probably the best value, but you won't go wrong with any of them. The full susser is a bit heavy.

The shogun is a pile of crap. Lol.

    Can she try them though?

no, her bike was nicked on thursday. i have my graduation on monday and we go away 8am ferry from dover (we live in Hull). i figured this shop was close so we can just nip across the M62 monday morning and grab one, whichever they have built!

can you recommend any other bikes? also do you know of any decent full sussers reduced to the same price bracket? hopeful i know

Not many full sussers worth having at these prices, most are very heavy and undamped. I think you'll be better with a HT,

Halfords Kraken and Fury are excellent bikes.

The Clauds are mens, and will have a mans saddle - ask if they will swap it. At least sit on them anyway for sizing.

so out of the 3 would you say that the Cape Wrath D27 at £475 is the best spec and value then?

The 475 version is only slightly better specced than the 400 version, I think the 400 is the best value.

cheers for that. i'll run it by the boss when she gets in. and this bike is getting tagged, smartwatered, UV'd and welded to the floor when not being ridden
