Well just bought a cannondale f1000 lefty off of a friend and im ready to "customize" it
Looking at seats, pedals, grips, bars and a stem to get the ball rolling
My question is will any of the need a specific replacement, I.e i cant go out and find any random pair of easton bars, would they need to be a specific diameter or rise? or would this all be something i could ask at any half decent cycle shop?
And lastly i was wondering if anyone knew of any painters around the southeast as the silver and blue isnt rocking my boat as it were, or could this be done by a friend with a little knowledge
Thank you

you need to know the diameter that the stem takes. likewise the fork steerer size so that the stem fits."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I would just enjoy it and ride.....to do upgrades as you have suggested you could spend at least £200 plus the same to have the frame painted. I don't know what the steerer size is for the lefty.. (Noarh's Arc can help they are a service agent) .the standard is usually 1 and 1/8ths......though if you are replacing both the stem and bars I would go for 31.8 and not 25.4 as you get more strength, (though 25.4 are usually cheaper)
I would check out ebay....you can pick used Thomson stems and seatposts for around £30.00 each..and they are one of the best. Saddle a WTB Silverado
Not sure what you paid but to spend £400 punds on tarting...I would use then resell and use tegh money you would have spent on a brand new bike...the 2011 ranges will be out in Sept (ish) so you will be able to pick up 2009 bargains0 -
Think i might just leave the aesthetic side alone, still need to find a seat though, and it does seem sensible to save my money for a second hand whyte or something0
