Can anyone tell me the difference between the GXP and the BB30 bottom brackets for the Sram force chainset. Thanks

GXP is an external cup system and BB30 fits the bearings directly into your BB shell. You need a BB30 compatible frame.

Yup - 2 different things entirely. GXP is an external cartridge bearing enclosed in a housing that screws into the frame threads whereas BB30 comprises 2 cartridge bearings that are press-fit into the frame. Neither chainsets or BBs are inter-compatible.

Nice one, that's cleared that up thanks.

Ps, Couldn't resist looking at the pink bikini video that came up with Wooliferkins BB30 youtube link  Quality

Just wanted to point out that the BB30 video linked above isn't actually installing a BB30 bottom bracket (or BB30 bearings), it's just installing a converter to convert the BB30 bottom bracket shell to take a conventional bottom bracket. FSA make those adapters (and probably others).

This video shows how it goes together pretty well ...
