Just done the Marmotte and fitted new Campag blocks for Boras. descending was a nightmare because it was very difficult to slow down. I noticed that the compound is different from the old ones that I removed which worked much better the old ones also had a very strong smell. Has the compound been changed? Is there a known problem with these blocks?

Congrats on the Marmotte - I hope to be there next year.

When I bought my Bora's I fitted the SwissStops straight away. The breaking is fine, albeit a little noisy. They leave a yellow deposit on the rim which I clean off.

However, I was pretty much told in the shop that the campag blocks were crap, a bugger to fit and not that good at stopping you. I've since been told that they are exactly the same. I know lightweight and swissstop are the same, but don't know if the same is true for campag.

Campag carbon specific brake blocks are good IMO (with carbon rims of course)

why not buy some swisstop, zipp etc. and compare if you don't like them?
  • Swiss stop. best pads i have used yet.

Ive been told by the dealer that the compound has been changed and there is now one carbon Campag block for all campag carbon rims. These are what I was using but my first ones must have been the old Bora specific compound which were fine.

I have bought some Mavic Swiss Stop Yellow pads to try.
