Gear cable - lube or not?

Just bought a new gear cable and a full length of outer, for my Orange 5. I've changed the inner a few times already but this will be it's first new outer.
Got me wondering, do folk lube their cables if it's a full outer or just leave it be? If so what do you use, dry lube, wet lube, GT85, grease........?

I use GT85 and a cable luber (cost me about a fiver when I used to ride motorbikes)

i've found wax is the best thing, pinch two tea-lights together and pull the cable through them.0

I use a thin coat of finishline.0

I used to use wayoxl from Halfords !
It comes in aorosol form with a straw which fits inside the outer, spray it in and it stays super slick, its a rust preventative thing for cars but it works on cables !
Any body else tried this ?0
