I just sent them a email to make sure if they have 17.5" in stock0 -
£400 is a sensible budget for an entry level MTB - there's a lot of choice at that price, and you'll be getting a 'proper' MTB rather than just an MTB lookalike.
Personally, I would forego the Land Rover and go for an established brand name - there's plenty of choice out there from the likes of Specialised, GT, Trek... to name a few.
To give yourself an idea, have a browse of the Evans Cycles website (link below is filtered for bikes up to £400):
http://www.evanscycles.com/categories/complete-bikes/mountain-bikes?brand=All&price_from=0&price_to=400&sort=&per_page=20&x=30&y=5
Also, if possible, try before you buy, so that you get the right size and a feel for how it rides...
If you're thinking long-term, focus on getting a bike with the best quality frame & forks for your budget - other components like brakes, wheels, gears, tyres etc can be upgraded at a future date as and when they wear out (which they will), or as your budget allows.
All the best with your new hobby :-)Earn Cashback @ Wiggle, CRC, Evans, AW Cycles, Alpine Bikes, ProBikeKit, Cycles UK :

Not sure about now, but Landrover bikes were all Claud Butler, just a mix of components you couldn't actually get with a CB badge on......sounds like an established (Bike I assume you meant, LR is pretty established!) brand name to me!
SimonCurrently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
thank you for all the advices.
maybe it's better to get a second-hand rockhopper or something similer..0 -
Why's that? Is a good bike! 95% of the parts the manufacturers pick from are from the same pool, and the frames are made generally by a select few factories. Merida make specialized for example.0

land rovers are pretty good for the price, the frames are reasonably light and the geometry is ballpark and the components are very good for the price.0

I'd say stick with the LR bike unless you find a better deal. To me that is defiantly a bike not a Supermarket Special BSO (Bike shaped object).0

thank you guys. your answers made me more confident of LR KAIKIAS0
