Hi i used to be an avid trials rider in my youth ( ish ) , but i lost interest
I just recently got back from a holiday in wales , and spent a day or 2 on some DH tracks and it was INSANE!
Im now looking at getting a secondhand DH bike , there any stand out models to look for ?
My budget is around £ 600
Dont care how old it is really just want a decent bike to thrash !

The trouble with looking second hand is that you have to take what you can get.
Just keep shopping around until you find a good deal, within your budget.0 -

How about a hardtail?
Second hand Cotic BFe, DMR Exalt, Norco Manic/Bigfoot/Rampage, On One 456 Summer Season(Really cheap!), Etc. Even a properly built Santa Cruz Chameleon can haul ass going DH.
But i should look for ISCG tabs on the frame for the chainguide, you are going to need it.0 -
I would be looking at a hardcore HT, especially for your budget.
It will improve your skills/smoothness as you need to be careful about line choice. It will be much better for your skills and then you can save up more for a full on DH bike if you still wish0 -
There always seems to be Coilers floating around on gumtree and ebay for not much more than that, seem like a good intro bike... Or Bighits for that matter Not a real DH bike of course but pretty capable. I keep nearly buying one then going "What would you do with one of those you eejit"Uncompromising extremist0

if you can get a 222 for the money, that's a much better option than a hardtail.0

Thats what i was thinking , i had played with the idea of building my own with parts , but the cost just spirraled.0
