105 9 Speed Rear Derailluer and Tiagra Shifters?

Is it possible to run this set up as long as I have the correct back block on?

    Yes it is.

    The shifters control what speed you are running and must match the cassette and as long as the chain runs freely through the rear mech it will work fine.

    This means that a 7/8 speed chain would be probably too wide for a 9/10 speed rear mech but your 9 speed chain should be fine.
