I have just gone from a Kona hard tail to a Marin Wolfridge 6.7 and I have to say that it climbs amazingly well. It does have a bit of weigh to it but nothing that isn't manageable and at the end of the day, unless you really want to make it bomb proof you can tweak it a little and shed a few pounds, the frame is pretty light. Only criticism I have of mine is that the rear disk gets a bit hot on bigger descents so I'm going to change the disc size but nothing more than that any time soon.

    I hope that this helps.

    Cheers Jon,

All sounds good to me. Does what it says on the " tin", just what I am after now to sell the road bike and raise the funds.

Got one here too (pic is in my sig). Great bike, climbs well for it's weight, and is an absolute beast when descending.
I'm not bothered by the weight, at least I know I have a solid chunk of bike underneath me that isn't going to break anytime soon.

One thing I have come across is that the marin grips suck. Only lasting a month or so. Will switch to ODI or superstar soon.

Those Wolfridge's suspension do look to some as a -crapping dog* design, but I like it. It's so ugly that you love it saying. On tech climbs the active suspension does help compared to HT, they may be not the best pedallers on long uphills but Pro-pedal cures it, and going down ... that bike just asks for big air, so chuckable. On flowing singletrack its so precise like a go-kart. You can't go wrong with it, especially at ridiculous prices as they are now ( 09 models).

I'll choose not put too much stake into someone's opinion who is admittingly terrible though
