Disc brake adapters .... do they vary?

I'm about to fit some Hope V2s

203 at the front (IS to post)
183 at the rear (IS to post)

I have variety of adapters from either Hayes or Hope brakes - but I can't remember which. Are adapters brake specific ....or not??

Some are yes, or some can need filing a bit with certain combos.

Older Hope has specific caliper halfs.

If you stick with Hope should be fine.

Unfortunately, the whole word seems to have sold of them !!
