Hi all, just a quicky...
Are Diatech freehub bodies alloy? I.e. Will I need to get a wider based rear sprocket to run single speed or will the budget ones do?

Test it with a magnet if you want to be certain.0

Maybe you could try a magnet on it? See if it sticks or not.

I still do not see an issue with using a cheap cassette on an alloy freehub.
I snap chains (well used to pre KMC days) and shatter hubs on a regular basis (last rebuild two weeks ago shattered pawls).
I have never had a cassette I could not get off, one sharp tap, then pull.
This is generally cosmetic damage!
Has anyone here had a cassette they could not remove or damaged the threads so bad it pulled through and could rotate on the hub?Why would I care about 150g of bike weight, I just ate 400g of cookies while reading this?0 -
This is for a single speed conversion, so all the power is being focused through maybe only a mm or 2 onto the freebody rather then the entire width of freebody via the cassette.
But no, I have never had trouble getting a cassette to slide off. The lockring on the other hand.... :twisted:http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtop ... t=12613038Cat With No Tail wrote:Anyway, fk dis, I iz off 4 a ride innit. l8rz peepz0
