Hi,
I want to buy a mountain bike. I have a budget of about £350.
Which of the following should I get?
Specialised hardrock is at £300 at Evans. It is the most basic one

There is an upgraded version of the same bike at £350, the only difference is that this has disk brakes.
Or should I get the Giant Rainier at £344 down from £425?

Could someone please compare these bikes and advise which one is more reliable?
I don't particularly need disk brakes or 24 gears instead of 21. I just want to buy the most reliable bike possible, with the highest quality componentry possible for my budget .If I get the disk etc. that's a bonus. I am looking to do the C2C and hopefully a few more trips across Britain afterwards. I am looking to buy a bike which I wouldn't have to junk after my first trip. Quality and reliability is key. ease/low expense of maintenance would be nice to have.
Any help would be much appreciated.
